Falco van Loon

Is there anything more fantastic than making beautiful music with outstanding musicians? The warmth of Monteverdi’s music is an invitation to making music together, so that it suddenly seems that music and mankind become one. Performing is such a wonderful profession…”

Falco began both to sing and to perform at an early age. He studied at the conservatories in Enschede and Arnhem with Annette Kleine, Harry van Berne and Lodewijk Meeuwsen. He followed his post-graduate studies at the Messiaen Academie, worked with Meinard Kraak and Frans Fiselier and is currently being coached by Gemma Visser. In the short period since his conservatory diploma, Falco has become a sought-after soloist in diverse styles and periods. He specialises in the Bach cantatas, the Christmas Oratorio and especially as the Evangelist in the St. John and St. Matthew Passions. In addition, Falco has performed the solo roles in the great oratoria such as The Seasons and The Creation by Haydn, Elias and Saul by Mendelssohn and the Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini. He has also been praised for his interpretation of lieder, including the Serenade and Nicholas Cantata by Benjamin Britten and is equally comfortable on the operatic stage. But singing Monteverdi with Le Nuove Musiche feels to him like sinking into a warm bubble bath.
